CrossJournal
Add articles from other journals to your issue's table of contents
What it does
CrossJournal lets editors add articles from other journals to their issue’s table of contents. Using the CrossRef API, editors search for articles by title, author, or DOI, then add them as a dedicated section in the TOC. Ideal for journals that want to point readers to related work from sister publications.
How it works
- Open any issue in the OJS issue editor
- Go to the “CrossJournal” tab
- Search for articles by title, author, or DOI
- Select articles to add — they appear as a new section in the table of contents
- Use drag & drop to reorder, configure section name and position
Key features
- CrossRef API search — find any published article by title, author, or DOI
- ISSN filtering — narrow results to a specific source journal
- Drag & drop — reorder articles within the CrossJournal section
- Duplicate protection — the same DOI can’t be added to an issue twice
- Configurable section — choose the section name and where it appears in the TOC (beginning, end, or after a specific section)
- Full metadata — displays title, authors, source journal name, DOI, volume, issue, pages, and publication date
